2019年9月，外国语学院传来捷报，全国英语专业四级考试（TEM4）成绩公布，英语专业2017级3个本科班参考76人，优秀3人，良好21人，合格37人。通过率80.3%，优良率39.3%(其中1703班优良率达到了65%)，优秀率4.9%，最高分87分，四项指标皆创外院历史新高，跻身河北省高校领先水平。

为了加强学风建设，外国语学院狠抓英语专业四级通过率。2019年3月初，外院王子贤、牛亚卿、路卿、刘含颖、王冬伟五位老师组建英语专业17级专四备考辅导团队，采用线上线下相结合的方式对学生进行专四备考辅导。线上， 通过ITEST教学平台，每周发布两次试题，要求学生在规定时间内完成。七周的时间里共发布13套试题，辅导老师为每套题都做出了详尽的答案解析，考试后发到学生备考群，以供学生排疑解难，查漏补缺。每个班的测试成绩任课教师会进行试卷、成绩分析，确定学生考试的难点，以进行更有针对性的辅导。线下，辅导老师统一购买了专四考试模拟题，集体备课，确认重难点，每周一次对学生进行面授辅导，对知识点及解题技巧进行梳理解析。

在院系领导的大力支持下，此次专四备考过程中，师生同心协力，积极配合，创造了专业四级通过率的新高记录。此次优异成绩的取得，极大的增强了学生的自信，鼓舞了她们的学习热情，为学弟学妹树立了良好的榜样和奋斗的目标。辅导老师的辛勤工作也得到学生的广泛认可和好评，为日后英语专业专四备考工作做了一次有益的探索与尝试。

英语专业四级考试是教育部委托全国高校外语专业教学指导委员会对英语专业大学二年级本科生组织的全国统一考试。该考试着重检查英语专业本科生英语语言基础知识综合运用能力，同时也是促进提高教学质量，本科教学质量评估的重要指标，考试成绩具有较高的含金量和参考价值。

The Passing Rate of TEM-4 in CFL Reaches a Record High Again

The results of the National TEM-4 in 2019 was released in September and the students of CFL got a huge success. The passing rate of 76 sophomore students of three classes of CFL has reached 80.3%. Among the students passed TEM-4, 3 excellent, 42 good and 37 qualified grades. The pass rate was 80.3%, the excellent and good rate was 39.3% (among which, the excellent and good rate of Class 1703 reached 65%), the excellent rate was 4.9%, and the highest score was 87. The four indicators all set a record high in the history of CFL, ranking among the leading universities in Hebei Province.

CFL and teachers from English Department adopted new ways to build better study environment to improve the passing rate of TEM-4. At the beginning of March of 2019, a professional teacher team was set up by five teachers, including Wang Zixian, Niu Yaqing, Lu Qing, Liu Hanying and Wang Dongwei. This team aimed to help the sophomores prepare the test online and offline. To online teaching, two texts would be posted on ITEST in one week and students need to finish them at the right time. To teachers, detailed analysis of 13 tests with seven weeks were sent to students to solve the difficult points specifically. To offline teaching, teachers gave students’ face-to-face guide and taught or analyzed key points and skills after preparing together and found the key and difficult points through 4 sets of TEM-4 mock test papers bought uniformly.

With the support of leaders of CFL, students and teachers have worked together to create a new record high, which boosted their confidence, excited study enthusiasm and set a good example and goals for other grade students. The hard work from teachers has been praised by the students, the way of guiding students will be a good exploration for the work of helping students’TEM-4 preparation in the future.

TEM-4 is a nationally standardized examination organized by the National College Foreign Language Teaching Steering Committee under the authorization of the Ministry of Education. It is targeted at second-year undergraduates of English majors, and is conducted to evaluate students’ ability to comprehensively use the basic knowledge of the English language.
